Zanzibar

An empire was built on tea and tonic, we set out to embrace that history. The first step on they journey was to pay tribute to Charles Tanqueray’s pursuit of perfection. We knew our drink was going to be tall and we wanted it to be green just like the iconic Tanqueray Ten. Starting with a simple Sencha tea syrup we built on this flavour by adding some kaffir lime and ginger to add some robustness of flavour. We didn’t want this to be too sweet so added an acid mixture and paired with the dry east imperial old world tonic. This we finished with pink grapefruit and mint to give the drink some contrasting colour and also all of these flavours compliment the Tanqueray Ten botanicals. Then it was just a matter of getting the ratios right. 9 or 10 trials later we decided to call our pursuit of perfection complete.
